The tower, which is capped by the Kežmarok belfry has a square ground plan. It is decorated with a crenelation with the coats of arms of the royal House of Habsburg, Hungary and Kežmarok. The oldest bell comes from 1525 and it was probably originally placed in the belfry of the Holy Cross Church. The other bells are newer and come from the eighties of the 20th century. There is an old legend connected with the bells of the Kežmarok belfry which says that every year on Maundy Thursday, the bells fly to Rome. Another legend says that there is a mysterious quadrangular room under the campanile.
The belfry is connected to the building of the former Catholic primary school. On the South of the belfry, there is the stone building of the old Latin school from 1536, which was the oldest school in the town.
