On both sides of the Old Market street, typical handicraft houses of Spiš with hipped roofs and shingles have been preserved. Unlike the town gentry houses on the Main Square, the handicraft houses on the Old Market were mostly single-storey buildings. Houses no. 33 and 47 are the most interesting, both of them are supposed to have been the seat of the first Kežmarok Town Hall and later the hospital.
The house no. 46 with a wide façade was built as the so called “Spiš House” for celebrations, theatre performances and concerts. Its task has been preserved up to now. Nowadays, the Town Cultural Centre is situated here.
